Whistler Discounts For Seniors
Where And How To Save On Hotels, Tickets And More
Whistler discounts abound for children visiting the resort. Free
skiing
(6 and under), free accommodation, free ski and snowboard rentals and
even free meals in some
restaurants. But they're not the only age group whose wallets get a
break when they visit the resort.
Seniors can also enjoy discounts (sorry no freebies like the kids)
on things like lift tickets, hotel accommodation and other resort
activities.
Discounts On Whistler Hotels
Of the twenty-some-odd hotels at Whistler Blackcomb, nine of them offer
special discounted rates to seniors. What constitutes a senior however,
varies from place to place, as does the size of the discount offered.
For example, at the Crystal Lodge and the Delta, you must be 65 years
of age or older to qualify for the Senior Rate. While at the Fairmont
you qualify if you are 60 or older. And at the Coast Blackcomb Suites
you need only be 55 years old.
The discounts themselves range from 10% to 15%. Let's have a look at
where you can get the best deals.
The Fairmont Chateau Whistler
The Fairmont, Four Seasons
and Aspens at the base of Blackcomb Mountain, Whistler, BC, Canada
The Chateau Whistler offers the biggest discounts when it comes to
Senior Rates at 15%. To qualify you must be 60 years or older.
Tip: If you are a AAA/CAA member you can get an
even better discount (20%) by choosing this rate class when booking.
The Whistler Hilton

Plaza surrounded by the Hilton, Carleton Lodge and Sundial Boutique
Hotel
The Whistler Hilton is located just steps (literally) from the
Whistler Village Gondola. Seniors (62+) qualify for a 10% discount off
of their best available rates.
Holiday Inn Whistler

The room had a full kitchen, and a murphy
bed which you can see on the left.
Depending on which type of room that you book, the Holiday Inn
Whistler offers seniors who are 62 years or older, a 10% to 15%
discount on room rates. The Holiday Inn is a 3 star hotel, located in
Whistler Village.

Delta Whistler Village Suites
This is a 4 star hotel located in Whistler Village North. A 10%
discount is offered to seniors, 65 years of age and older. Finding this
discount on their website can be a tad tricky. You have to get to a
page that gives you options for different rates (choose the Senior Rate
from the drop down menu) or you won't see the discounted rate come up.
It's there, just keep looking.
Mountainside Lodge
Whistler Village
Crystal Lodge & Suites
This 4 star hotel is located right along the main stroll in Whistler
Village and offers a 10% discount to seniors (65+).
Finally, the Westin Resort in Whistler Village claims to offer a
discounted rate to seniors as well although it does not seem to ever
show up when attempting a booking.
Whistler Discounts On Ski Lift Tickets And Passes
Once you hit 65 years of age, you are eligible for the senior rates on
Whistler lift tickets, passes and Edge Cards.
The savings on a one day lift ticket, as well as multi-day tickets is
usually around 15%. Up to date Whistler ticket pricing can be found
here.
Seniors can also save on ski lift tickets and rental packages purchased
through local 7 Eleven stores in Vancouver and Squamish. A complete
rundown on 7 Eleven Whistler discounts can be found
here.
If you are a resident of either Canada or Washington State then you
qualify to purchase a Whistler Blackcomb Edge Card. Seniors realize a
savings of approximately 20% on Edge Cards. More details about Edge
Cards and up to date pricing can be found
here.
Seniors save even bigger on Whistler Season Passes. Depending on you
age, you will save either 50% or 90% off of a regular Adult Season Pass
price. You'll save 50% if you are between the ages of 65 and 74, and
almost 90% if you are 75+. Details on season pass pricing can be found
here.
Whistler Discounts On Zip Trekking And Tree Trekking
If taking the Peak to Peak Gondola across Fitzsimmons Creek is too tame
for you, then you might want to try ziplining across sitting in a
harness attached to an 1100 ft. steel cable. And if that sounds a
little too exhilarating, you can always just opt for a more
conservative walk through the treetops on a series of boardwalks.
Either way, seniors save $20 off the full price of these activities.
Whistler Tube Park Savings
If you are looking for a fun "off-day" or evening activity, head to the
Whistler Tube Park, located on Blackcomb Mountain. We took our boys
last school break on a day off from skiing and had a blast.
Seniors get a discount of between 15% to 18% depending on how long, and
when you go. Get more information on Tube Park pricing
here.
Whistler Discounts On Movies
The Village 8 Cinemas, located in the
Holiday Inn building, Whistler Village
If you are interested in catching a movie one evening while in town,
then head on over to the Village 8 Cinemas, located in the Holiday Inn
building.
Seniors (60+) receive a 22% discount off of regularly priced adult
tickets.
Transit Whistler Discounts
A Whistler Transit bus heads towards
the mountains from the Blackcomb Benchlands
Taking the bus in Whistler is a great way to get around. I know that
when we are in Whistler we almost never get into our van once it is
parked. Jumping on the bus is much more convenient, and best of all,
most of the routes are free.
But for the routes that are not free, seniors (65+) enjoy a 20%
discount on fares.
