If the choice of which Blackcomb resort hotel we are going to stay at goes to a vote in our family, the results are usually unanimous.
Even our two year old Thomas gives it the thumbs up.
So when spring break rolled around this year, and we were planning a weeks' vacation in Whistler, we didn't even have to vote.

(Whistler Mountain In Background)
Located a mere 50 paces (give or take) from the Wizard chairlift at the base of Blackcomb Mountain, the Fairmont puts you in the lap of luxury and the lap of a world class ski mountain. And even in the summer months the location is spectacular. Just a short jaunt down the road and you are on the first tee at the Chateau Whistler Golf Course.
So whether you're planning a romantic getaway for two, or a trip to Whistler with the whole family, this Blackcomb resort will not disappoint.
The thing that first strikes you when you arrive at the Chateau is the majestic appearance of the hotel itself. Built in the style of a European chateau, its architecture fits perfectly with its mountain surroundings.
Stepping inside you are greeted by a spacious lobby with plenty of comfortable leather couches. Personally, I love hotels with grand lobbies and plenty of space to relax outside of your room.
The Fairmont Chateau is a true resort in every
sense of the word. Here is a quick look at what you can expect from
this 5 star Blackcomb Resort.
I've already told you that the Fairmont Whistler is our family's favorite Blackcomb resort. And one of the main reasons is the health club and pool facilities.
Arguably the best facilities in all of Whistler.
Thomas (A Little Overdressed) But Relaxing In The Health Club Nonetheless
A top notch breakfast buffet at the Wildflower Restaurant.
Fine dining in a private room at The Wine Room.
Relaxing in big comfy leather chairs and couches by a fireplace in the Mallard Lounge.
No matter what your dining needs are you'll find it right inside this Blackcomb resort. No need to wander anywhere else.
Sitting Down To Breakfast At The Wildflower
Curl up with a good book, or just sit and soak up the sunshine and the scenery on the the outdoor patio.
Order some drinks and some nachos while you sit by the fire and watch all the activity on the mountain.
The Vida Spa is located right inside the resort and right across the hall from the pool and health club. Need a massage after a hard day on the slopes? Or maybe you want to spend the whole day there and just skip the skiing. Whatever your preference you don't have to wander far.
Upon your arrival the concierge
Want to head into Whistler Village for dinner? It's only a 10 minute
walk, but if you prefer you can simply catch the complimentary shuttle
which will take you there and bring you back whenever you want.
This was our second time staying at the Chateau, and just like after our first stay, we've already decided that we'll be back.
